Junior Cricket Coaching

Allscott Heath Cricket Club is on the lookout for new junior cricketers for 2023!

We have a thriving cricket section here at NJS and away from school, I am the Junior Co-ordinator for my Cricket Club. It would be great if some of the children between Y3-6 who take part in our cricket sessions at NJS or would like to join a club coached by myself came to our club. We take part in both softball and hardball competitions and want children to have fun playing cricket. All Stars is for 5-8 year olds and Dynamos is 8-11 year olds.

4M Shelters

4M had an absolutely top day making our shelters today. Here is a selection of pictures showing our learning across the day. It was fantastic to make a finished shelter after so much planning and preparation. The class loved doing it. Thank you to all those who bought in some materials for our shelter models today. On a personal level, Miss Willington and Mrs Dunscombe are a dabber hand than me with a glue gun!

4M DT Day 9th February

Good morning. For DT day tomorrow where we are making our shelters, I would advise the children to bring in an old t-shirt/art apron to wear as there will be a painting station so that they can paint their shelter once they have been constructed.

Thank you so much to those that have brought in cardboard and other bits and pieces so far. It is much appreciated. Any old Christmas wrapping paper would be appreciated to for decoration.

4M Orienteering

Yesterday in P.E. we started orienteering for the first time. For many of the children this was something that they had never done before and found it very confusing. But over the course of the lesson, the progress in using directional points and teamwork was excellent.

Y4 Rainforest Day Urgent Update

Year 4 Parents and Carers

Year 4 are due to have the Rainforest man visit to supplement their Geography and Art work. We currently only have 47 children with consent and have insufficient funds to cover the cost of this experience. This is just over half of the year group.

Please can we please ask Year 4 parents/carers to access ParentPay to consent for this experience and make their contribution. If we do not have sufficient consent and funds by Friday we may have to cancel this visit.

4M D&T Shelters

Please can the children over the next two weeks bring in any old pieces of cardboard, cereal boxes, toilet roll holders, plastic bags (to make shelters waterproof) and anything else that can be used successfully to junk model. This will be used to make our final, completed versions of our shelters that the children planned and designed individually. We will be using these materials alongside a range of materials available to the children in school. We will be making the Shelters on Thursday 9th February.
