‘Just in case book’

Following the closure of the Year 4 bubble we are learning!  Hopefully you all understand that as a school we have never been through this before and there will be things we learn from the experience.

One of those is ensuring children have what they need to learn from home…. children have all been sent home today with an exercise book.  Please keep this somewhere safe in your home should your child ever be (and we sincerely hope not) in the position of learning from home this book can be used to record their learning.

In the meantime… Year 4 children please use your homework book if you have this at home or paper.

Support for NJS

As always we are overwhelmed with your support at this time.  Our dedicated staff are doing their very best to provide for the children who are attending school and who are having to self isolate at home.

I am encouraging, and have been since March(!), all of our staff to put their wellbeing and health first.  The staff team are an asset to the school and if they look after themselves they will be in the best place to provide the very best provision for our children.

Like every organisation in the country we too are experiencing the pressures of staff needing to shield or self isolate. Our thoughts are very much with these staff members.  Please understand that we do have some reduced staffing so some elements of the educational provision do have to be adjusted; this will however never be at the expense of safety.

We appreciate your support and understanding with this: school is running, safe and children are happy.  We want to offer our very best and  we continue to do so.

Thank you for your support.

Update to all NJS families

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am emailing to confirm that we closed our Year 4 bubble yesterday and they will return on Friday 20th November.  This is due to a member of staff testing positive for COVID.

All other staff and children should attend for school as usual and we look forward to seeing them tomorrow.

If you do have any concerns then please do contact a member of the team.

Our priority is following the guidance to keep everyone safe and well.  Our very best wishes go to the staff member.  We are grateful to you all for your support as always.

Take care

Mrs M

Thank you

I have been overwhelmed with messages and words of support from our families today: this means a lot to school staff at this time as we all rise to new challenges, thank you.

Working together to keep our school family safe and to provide the very best for our children continues to be our priority and we thank you for your support.

Congregating at the Gates

Please can we politely request that parents and carers DO NOT congregate at our school gates.  When you exit site please move away immediately.

It is essential to the safety of our school family that we respect the guidance set out for us.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR NJS PARENTS AND CARERS

Dear Parents and Carers

As you are aware we enter into a new phase of National ‘restrictions’ from tomorrow.  On behalf of everyone at NJS we hope that all of our families remain safe and well.  Schools remain open throughout this period and we will be working very hard to ensure school remains a safe place for staff and children. School attendance remains compulsory.

There are some updates to make you aware of and that we do expect your support with:

*Parents and carers MUST wear a mask at school drop off and pick up.

*Parents and carers MUST follow the one way systems and move swiftly on and off site to drop off your child.  Please DO NOT stop on school site: children should have everything they need and be immediately left in a morning.  In the afternoon please do not approach your child they will be sent to you.

*You must maintain 2m distance between you and all other parents at all times.

*Guidance remains that children of Primary age do not need masks in school.  If children wear a mask into school we will ask they remove it and store it in their bag until the end of the day.

*Please DO NOT stop to have a conversation with any staff members at any time.  Please communicate with us by telephone or email.  A reminder of our email addresses:
