Year 4 Lunch and Learn
REMINDER: Lunch and Learn sessions are taking place 11am-12.30pm on Thursday for 4OP and Friday for 4N. We are looking forward to seeing you!
On arrival at school we will take payment for your adult meal if you are having one: the cost is £3.12 (set by catering not ourselves!). If you can possibly have the exact money this would really help us.

Year 4 Roman Day
Year 4 have had a wonderful and immersive day today, learning more about our history topic of ‘The Romans’ thanks to Mr Cadle- The History Man!
Mr Cadle shared lots of knowledge with the children, who have also had a chance to play Roman games, act as Roman warriors, make clay figures and dress up as Roman families.
Well done to the children (and parents!) for the excellent costumes and accessories.
Year 4 – Newspaper and Art Shirt Request
Please could Year 4 help out the Year 4 teachers, by topping up our Newspaper stock? We need old newspaper to cover and protect our classroom tables!
Also please can children bring in Art shirts this week and leave them in school lockers!
4M will need them tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday) 4N and 4OP later this week!

Music in year 4!
Good morning year 4!
I am extremely excited to share a fantastic opportunity the children in year 4 will have this academic year. We are very lucky to have a music teacher come to NJS to teach each class 10 weeks of Violin lessons.
At the moment the plan is as follows:
4OP – 10 weeks in the Autumn term
4M – 10 weeks in the Spring term
4N – 10 weeks in the Summer term
This is really exciting for the children and 4OP have their first lesson Wednesday 20th September. We will post pictures and updates as often as we can. All the equipment will be brought with the music teacher each week. We will go over how to make the most of the opportunity and look after the equipment with children before each session.
I know that I am very excited for this opportunity we have been able to provide the children in year 4.
Look forward to sharing the children’s new skills with you soon!

Monday – Roman Day – All children to be dressed as a Roman for Roman Day.
Tuesday – 4OP PE kit.
– 4M Lunch and Learn – Signed up parents ready for a lesson at 11am and lunch at 12pm.
Wednesday – HOMEWORK DUE IN. Please bring in your homework book by Wednesday morning.
– LIBRARY. Children will have the opportunity to borrow or exchange a school library books.
– 4N PE kit.
Thursday – 4M PE Kit
– 4OP Lunch and Learn – Signed up parents ready for a lesson at 11am and lunch at 12pm.
Friday – PE. All children to have their PE kit in school.
– 4N Lunch and Learn – Signed up parents ready for a lesson at 11am and lunch at 12pm.
– Be Bright Be Seen – Wear a bright colour! Walking bus from Shuker field at 8.30am.
