Yr 6 Homework
Homework due by Wednesday 24th April
Complete mixed objectives test on http://www.maths.co.uk this has been set up to target several key objectives as a means of revision. We use this information to plan appropriate support within school.
Complete fluency sheet on using colons. Some of this will need to be written in the homework books, some can be completed on the sheet.
Thank you for your on going support in ensuring children are able to complete their homework. It is all part of our efforts to support their transition to secondary school.
Alton Towers
Dear parents and carers,
Just a polite reminder that there are some overdue payments for the Alton Towers visit in May. The second instalment was due 15/04/24 and the final instalment is due on 15/05/24. If insufficient funds are received it may be that we have to cancel the visit.

London Residential Meeting for Parents
There will be a meeting in the school hall for all parents of children going on the London Residential visit on Wednesday 24th April at 3.30pm in the school hall.
Any parents who are unable to make the meeting please don’t worry, I will be sharing the information via the website following the meeting.

Y6 Boys Football POSTPONED
I have made the boys aware but the fixture tomorrow is postponed unfortunately due to our field still being waterlogged. I am working with Short Wood to find a new date that works for both schools.

Homework is due in by Wednesday 17th April.
- Complete the measurement SATs test which has been set on www.maths.co.uk (Children already have their log in information in order to access this)
- Complete the SPaG sheet which contains questions from many areas of the SPaG curriculum. Wk 1 spag
We ask that all children, unless prior agreed by the teacher, complete this homework. The maths test gives us information on gaps in learning that we use to help best prepare the children for their upcoming SATs.
Yr 6 Tutoring 9th April
Just a reminder that Maths tutoring for children in Mr Jones’, Miss Bold’s & Mrs Ollerenshaw is taking place tomorrow morning.
Please ensure you arrive by 8am and make your way straight to the classroom where the teacher will be waiting.
Yr 6 Easter Homework
During the Easter holiday, our main priority is that the children enjoy the break, remain active and spend time with friends & family.
We are, however, aware that some parents are keen to keep their child ticking over with some homework so we have put together a few bits to complete which should help the children consolidate their learning from the classroom.
- There are 2 practice papers available on www.maths.co.uk (the children have used this before and will have their log in details with them.)
- There are some SPaG revision mats which cover a range of topics which will have been covered in class.
- Finally, there is a retrieval practice worksheet; this is a key content domain for the KS2 assessments.

Yr 6 PE Kit Expectations
Please can we remind parents of the expectations around PE kits within school.
Children should have a plain t-shirt which is the colour of their given house team (red, yellow, blue or green) or alternatively a plan white t-shirt. In addition to this, children should have black shorts and outdoor shoes available. During outdoor sessions, children are permitted to wear black joggers and a jumper/fleece/jacket.
We are seeing an increasing number of children who are bringing in football kits/tops for PE kit which is not part of the school policy. Please can we ask that children do not bring football kits to school as PE kit.
If you have any questions around this please contact your child’s class teacher.
Yr 6 Leavers’ Hoody Reminder
Please ensure that you have filled in & returned the information on the bottom of the letter sent home on Friday regarding the leavers’ hoodies.
We are very grateful to our PTA for their hard work in ensuring children are able to have a hoody this year.
As it states on the letter, if it is not returned by Wednesday, staff will estimate sizing and will request for the first name to be printed.
