Dear Parents and Carers,
I am sure, like us, you were awaiting yesterdays announcements about the reopening of schools. It was confirmed that all Primary children would return to school on Monday the 8th March.
We are really excited and looking forward to seeing the children ‘in person’ on this date. We can’t wait to see them reunited with their friends and benefitting from attending school again.
Guidance was issued by the Department for Education last night for the return to school and can be found here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/963541/Schools_coronavirus_operational_guidance.pdf
You will notice that the guidance for Primary Schools is very similar the that in the Autumn Term and therefore your children will notice few changes on their March return. Over the coming days we will of course review our risk assessments and procedures and communicate these to you in good time. In the meantime, get checking that your child’s uniform fits!
Attendance will be compulsory from the 8th March (except for those children who have a letter confirming they are Clinically Extremely Vulnerable and have presented this to school) so please do talk about the return to school positively with your child. Remind them how well they have done over the last few weeks to learn from home and as a consequence how they have played their part to make their community safer. Remind them of the things to look forward to on their return to school and allow them the opportunity to talk about any worries they have. Please do contact us at school if there is anything we can support with.
We are so grateful to our parents and carers for their support throughout this time; working in partnership is a massive strength of NJS and ultimately benefits our children to ensure they receive the very best. You should all be very proud of the support you have given your children over recent weeks, both emotionally and with their learning! It hasn’t been easy but we have done what we needed to do and now have some optimism now for the coming weeks and months.
As always we will continue to communicate with you via our website over the coming days.
Take care everyone.
Mrs M x
