Year 3 Spellings and Homework – to be tested 25.1.19

Dear parents,
Apologies again for the late posting of the spellings and homework – although your children should have paper copies of everything they need. Spellings this week are the same for each group – please see your class teacher if you require further explanation.

Please encourage your children to access Times Tables Rock Stars, preferably on a tablet as it is easier, at least 3-5 times per week for the first few months, as this will help them to develop their times tables fluency and accuracy much more quickly. It is free to use.

There will be no more homework or spelling / tables tests this term. However, please continue to read with your child and practice tables as, and when possible.

Year 3 Weekly spellings and homework to be tested Friday 19th October

Please read at home with your child at least three times and fill in their reading record book. Children need to practice their 3x tables for a test on Friday 19th October.

English Homework this week is to complete the Speech marks work, which will be stuck in the children’s homework books. Thank you for your support.

Dear Parents,

Above is the link for year 3 weekly spellings. Children will also have a maths number bond sheet and a minute maths test sheet to complete, which should be already stuck inside their homework books.

**Please note: due to a photocopying error, children only have 4 x 1 minute maths tests each, instead of 8. Apologies for any confusion. **

Year 3 Spellings to be tested Friday 5th October

Please see the two links above for spellings and homework, both due on Friday 5th October.

Spellings and Tables to be tested on Friday 5th October. Children need to show evidence of having practiced their 2x, 5x and 10x tables in their homework books by writing out tables, parents comment to say they have been tested etc., and writing their spellings, using Look, Cover, Say Write Check method. Children also have a handwriting sheet of their weekly spellings stuck into their orange Homework books. Please watch your child forming letters to check they start and finish letters in the right place on the line. This will enable a more fluent, joined style and allow them to join letters correctly.
