Please find attached the Year 3 spellings, to be tested on 10.5.19. Children need to continue to use Times Tables Rock Stars, and develop accuracy and frequency of play.

Also, please encourage your child to complete their homework about Birmingham city, which was issued before the Easter holidays (see below) for 10.5.19 or earlier.

“Children will need to make a poster about Birmingham City, and this forms their homework for the next four weeks. Try to include details like basic facts (population, size, etc.), buildings and landmarks, points of interest, reasons to go there, weather and climate, activities to do etc. You can add drawn (preferably) and coloured pictures or printed pictures to your poster. Please try to make it at least A4 in paper size and of presentation standard quality, for display on the wall.  This will support our topic work on Towns and Cities for next term.  The homework is due in on, or before Friday 10^th May.”

Year 3 Spelling week 13 to be tested 3.5.19

Homework for Year 3.

Learn spellings and continue use of TTRS at least 3 to 5x weekly.

Try to read every day at home over the holidays, a book a comic, a newspaper, etc, but not less than 3 times per week with an adult listening to you. Remember to fill in your reading diary, so you earn house points for your team.

There are no spellings for next Friday, due to the Pioneer Centre trip.

Children will receive their weekly spellings to be tested during the first week back after Easter next week.

Children can begin to bring in their shields from Monday 1st April next week. On Wednesday 3rd April, we will be completing an evaluation of their shield, so it would be very helpful if we could have all of them in school by then please.

Year 3 Spellings and homework week 11 to be tested 29.3.19

Dear Parents,

Please continue to help your children learn their times tables, using TTRS. We have several battles currently taking place between 3B:3P and 3B:3W on TTRS – please allow your children to play as much as possible.

Children should continue to work on their shields, to be ready for 1^st April. Again, we request that you do not send them in before this date, due to restricted storage space. Please learn spellings and complete at least 3x entries in reading diaries with parent signatures.

Dear Parents,

Today children should have come home with their spellings and homework in their orange homework books, to be tested 15.3.19. They should also have a copy of their shield design page for creating their actual shield, and criteria for making their shield. The finished design is due at school by 1st April (no earlier please).

Dear Parents,

This week, children should continue to work on Times Tables Rock Stars. We would really appreciate it if you could let your children spend at least 10 mins per day on TTRS, to maximise its impact on their tables recall and accuracy. Thank you.

Please complete your reading (3x) weekly homework, and complete the English homework sheet set (see orange homework books).Please note: Children DO NOT NEED TO CREATE THEIR ROMAN SHIELD YET. We have not done the preliminary work in class for this, so would appreciate if you could not send them in, as we have nowhere to store them!
