Year 3 – Chetwynd deer park trip 4th/5th October

It is with great pleasure we get to announce our first trip with NJS.

We have been invited to spend some time at Chetwynd deer park, here we will be enjoying some nature activities as well as an opportunity to spot some deer across the beautiful park.

Each class will spend half a day at the deer park;

3B – Wednesday 4th morning

3L – Wednesday 4th afternoon

3T Thursday 5th morning

Here are some important details regarding the trip, please ask your child’s class teacher if you have further questions.

Consent– Consent is required for all pupils to attend, this is done through the parentpay application.

Clothing– Children will be able to come dressed appropriately for the outdoors on the day of their trip, we recommend long trousers and multiple layers due to the time of year. Raincoats are essential. We advise children wear old or ‘muddy’ trainers. Wellington boots are not recommended as we will be walking to the deer park from school. 3B and 3T may wish to bring a change of clothes for the afternoon.

Transport – We will be walking from school to the deer park, this is about 20 minutes. We will depart and arrive during school time. Please be lenient with 3L in case we have a slow walk back.

Lunch – We will be having lunch at school at the normal time, there will be no change to hot dinners or packed lunch. Break time snacks for 3B and 3T will need to be taken with the children.

We have enjoyed this trip for many years, it is a great opportunity and we know our year 3 cohort will have a great time. Please sign up on parentpay as quick as possible, any issues with parentpay please contact the office.

With thanks,

Year 3 team

All children from respective houses will need their swimming kit on the correct date. Guardians are welcome to join us for the events which will start as close to 13.20 as possible and finish around 15.00. Children can then be collected from the swimming pool or will be walked back to school for as close to normal time as possible.

Telford and Wrekin cross country

Here is a reminder to all budding runners about the Telford and Wrekin cross country event happening at the deer park. NJS-x-country-letter

Practises have been brilliant before and after the Easter holidays and the event is next week on Tuesday.

If your child has not been able to participate in the training sessions but is still keen they need a completed letter to be handed in by Friday 21st April.

If your child has been to the training sessions but has decided they do not want to participate please email myself – elliott.lawson@taw.org.uk   and we shall remove them from the list.

All children without a completed permission slip (or given consent via email)  will not be able to attend.

All details can be found in the letter. If children want to collect a physical letter they can do so from Mr Lawson’s classroom.

All the best,

Mr L
