Fidget toys/ fugglers/ dumplings/ squishies

Hello,

I just wanted to reiterate Mr Jones post about fidget toys. They are causing a lot of issues within class at the moment as children are bringing them in and swapping/ taking them off of one another, then deciding they want them back and so on. We had an incident where 4 were taken last week. Thankfully these were eventually returned to their owner, but this takes valuable time out of teaching to address. In a few cases the dumplings/ soft toys being brought into school are very large and children are -despite being asked to keep them in their lockers- are putting them on their desks or taking them out at break times. Mr Jones’ post is below in case you haven’t seen it. I thank you for your anticipated support.

Fidget Toys in School – Please Read.

At our school, fidget resources are used carefully to support children with identified sensory or learning needs. Where appropriate, these are either:

  • Provided directly by the school
  • Specified as part of a child’s Individual Provision Map

To ensure these resources maintain their intended purpose and to minimise disruption to learning, children should not bring fidget toys or similar items into school unless they meet one of the criteria above.

Any such items brought into school without prior agreement will be confiscated and will need to be collected by a parent or carer.

We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a calm and focused learning environment for all children.

Many thanks.

Times Tables Rock Stars

We are doing an amazing job in 3P with our time tables rockstars. On Wednesday we were in second place out of all of the lower key stage 2 classes. The battle continues for a couple more weeks. We are so close to the top position with only 800 points between us and 4L.

Keep practicing 3P!!!

World Book Day

Fantastic effort in 3P today for World Book Day!

January in 3P

We have had such a busy start to 2026!! The children have all been working extremely hard in all areas of the curriculum. I’ve added a few photos into this post for you to have a look at.

In science this month we have been learning about the digestive system and teeth. We used mirrors to identify and name which teeth we had. Some of us have more than others at the moment. We learnt about incisors, pre molars, molars and canines. We have begun to compare our teeth to other animals.

In our maths sessions we have been looking at multiplication and division and in particular multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100.

We’ve also completed a dance unit on machines which we all got really stuck into.

The children also made their own papyrus paper in Monday’s art lesson with Mrs Ollerenshaw.

We’ve also mummified tomatoes! We checked on them yesterday and noted any differences from when they were first placed in the salt.

We’ve completed lots more amazing work, too much to mention.

Just a quick ask, I’m not seeing many homework books. The children have new homework handed to them every Friday.

3P-Egyptian Art

3P made shaduf today with Mrs Jones for their art unit. A shaduf is and ancient, hand- operated  irrigation tool used to lift water from a source, like a river or well, to irrigate land or fill basins.

Yoghurt Pots

Good morning,

Just a reminder…

If you have any small empty yoghurt pots could you please send them into school for Thursday’s art session.

Thank You
