Shropshire Beam are pleased to provide virtual workshops for parents and professionals from July 2023. All virtual workshops will take around an hour.

All details are listed below in the chart, you will need to click on the Link at the appropriate time of chosen Workshop. All workshop will be done via MS Teams Video call, but we are unable to record sessions.

The Workshops are derived to be informative and engaging sessions, please be willing to participate during the sessions.

There are four Workshops which will be rolled out at 4pm to enable more people to attend, please see the following details of content:

• Managing Anxiety – aims and objectives are to pass over psycho- education within the topic followed by practical suggestions of methods and techniques to help support the youth experience issues with anxiety.
• Understanding & Responding to Self–Harm – aims and objectives are to pass over psycho-education within the topic followed by practical suggestions of methods and techniques to help support the youth experiencing issues with self-harm.
• Wellbeing Planning – a workshop which explains and provides a tool for children and young people to support their general emotional health and wellbeing, it recognises triggers and promotes self-awareness, and can also be used as a relapse tool to support resilience.
• Sleep Support – aims to pass over psycho-education within the topic followed by practical suggestions and advise of methods and techniques to help support the children and young people having difficulties with getting to sleep and staying asleep. This workshop will be rolled out twice over the four weeks, due to popular demand.

Monday 11th September 2023 2pm in the school hall

‘Raising Parental Awareness of Exploitation’

This workshop will support parents to understand exploitation of young people, signs to look out for and how to respond.  It is a requirement for Telford and Wrekin schools to offer this to parents and carers.

This will be a very information session led by PC Ridgewell.  Please do come along.

Thursday 20th July will be ‘Year 6 Leavers Day’ with a range of activities planned for Year 6 to mark their last week at NJS.

The day will run as follows:

9am: Leavers Church Service at St Nicholas’ Church.  This is a whole school service. Year 6 parents and carers only are able to attend and we ask that this is limited to a maximum of 2 per Year 6 pupil.

Back in school the children will have the opportunity to have their shirts signed!  Please send the children with a spare item of NJS uniform that you are happy for them to have signed by staff and friends.  Please can children bring a Sharpie or other appropriate pen for them to be able to do this.

Leavers Lunch: Year 6 will be deciding the lunch menu with the catering team!  The menu will be announced soon!  This menu will apply to the whole school.

3.30-5pm: Leavers Party! All Year 6 pupils are invited to a Leavers Party with the NJS staff team.  The children can bring a change of clothing (this should include trainers and comfortable clothing) for this party.  The children will take part in activities they have chosen with staff members and then be treated to chips and ice cream for a party tea!

During open evening on Thursday our wonderful PTA will be selling pre loved uniform for donations (50p-£2).  Please do take the opportunity to purchase uniform ahead of September.

If you have an pre loved uniform to donate to school we would be very grateful and it can be brought to the office at any time.

We have an abundance of Lost Property in our red bin.

You can access the Lost Property bin at the side of the office.

We will make the Lost Property bin readily available outside the office during Open Evening should you wish to check for any items!
