We are VERY pleased to announce that we, Newport CE Junior School, have achieved the School Games Platinum Mark Award for the 2022/23 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are thrilled to have been recognised for our success.
Our sporting achievements this year are many varied! We have enjoyed competing in basketball, football, netball, dance, cricket, athletics, rugby, cross country, rounders, archery and more!
As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.
The most important thing for us at NJS is that we build a life long love of sport for our children and we are so grateful to our amazing staff team who enable this.
We are looking forward to building on this further in 23/24!
We have a volunteer who is kindly going to organise the lost property bin into order on Thursday afternoon and lay items out in front of the office. This will be available throughout Open Evening for parents to view and reclaim!
Please do have a look, there is currently a lot of lost property.
Anything left in lost property at the end of term will be placed in our pre loved uniform sale or taken to a local Charity Shop.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
Today, Alfie in 5N has received his community badge for his wonderful act of kindness!
Alfie has been doing some lovely artwork at home and auctioning it to his family and friends. Alfie managed to make £20 which he decided to donate to NJS. What a remarkable and selfless thing to do for your school community Alfie!
A huge thank you for all your support for our Summer Fair yesterday.
We raised a just over a wonderful £2500 for school funds.
The winner of the Ring it to Win it was Henry and Ava’s nan who won half the prize total.
