Just a reminder that NJS are actioning the same plan again tomorrow….

There will be an opportunity to collect your child between 1.15 and 1.30pm when the gates are opened.

As today if you cannot collect your child we understand and they will be accommodated in school under the care of the staff.

Please can I thank everyone for their support this week: the children who have been sensible and calm, parents for your support and the wonderful staff who put the children first.

I am looking forward to a slightly cooler week next week!

We were due to have school photos taken tomorrow. This has been cancelled due to the number of children not in school and the need to wear cooler clothing rather than uniform!

A new date will be arranged.

The staff and children at NJS have been fantastic in the way they’ve handled the heat this week. Everyone has shown great sense and resilience, and the measures in place have helped keep the school community as comfortable as possible.

With the warm weather set to continue through Friday, we would like to offer you the option to collect your child between 1.15 and 1.30pm tomorrow and Friday. We know the week’s heat has been tiring for many of the children, and this gives families some flexibility.

We completely understand that many of you may not be able to collect your child early, and we want to reassure you that there is absolutely no obligation to do so. Our dedicated staff will remain in school to supervise and support all children who stay.

If you do choose to collect your child, the gates will be open from 1.15–1.30pm, and you can use your usual entrance.

(If you are consenting to your Year 5 or Year 6 child walking home alone this must be done by email to your class teacher or njs.admin@taw.org.uk, if we do not have explicit consent for tomorrow and Friday we will not release children at 1.15pm to walk home.)

In light of the Amber Weather warning for hot and humid weather some reminders:

*Please ensure children come to school with a filled water bottle.  We will ensure they are kept hydrated throughout the day.

*Please send children with a sun hat.

*Please apply sun cream before your child comes to school and send them with cream they can reapply during the day.

*Please ensure the children have lose, cool clothing… shorts, t shirt, summer dress.  If you feel PE kit will be cooler for your child we are happy for this to be worn this week including trainers.
