Young Voices: WEDNESDAY

Parents and Carers of children attending Young Voices on the 7th January/Wednesday:

Mrs Green led our school choir for 20+ years and attended every Young Voices concert since it started… we are doing this to make her proud.  We will be providing the children with a green ribbon to wear on their t shirt (as suggested supportively by parents) to show our respect to Mrs Green: we will also send some home with your children if you are in the audience and would like to wear one.

It was also suggested children could bring their NJSFest bucket hats!  They are green and bright and will help you to spot us.  Please send this in with your child if you have theirs or can borrow one, we will try to have some spares too.

On the day….

  • Children to attend for school in uniform.
  • Children can have a school meal for lunch or need to bring a packed lunch.
  • Children will be given their white Young Voices t shirt before we leave school to wear for the event.
  • Children to have their NJSFest bucket hat with them if they can.
  • We will be leaving school at 12.15pm.
  • Please can children bring a bag containing their school things for the morning to leave in school and a bag to take to the arena with their packed tea, water and coat in. We don’t want to be carrying around too many bags!
  • ALL children MUST bring a packed tea to eat at the BP Pulse Arena.  Please also pack them plenty of water to last the afternoon and evening.
  • If you are in the audience for the event NJS will have our banner with us and we will be waving green flags!
  • The concert will be taking place 7pm-8.45pm.  Please ensure you have indicated on ParentPay whether you will be collecting your child from the collection point at the arena or from school at 10pm.  If you are collecting your child at 10pm please be prompt.

Any queries please contact Mrs Moody or Mrs Wheat.

Huge thanks to Mrs Moody, Mrs Wheat, Mrs Stanley and Mrs Henderson who will be accompanying the choir for this visit.

The forecast this week is cold and snow showers will potentially continue: please send your child to school with their winter coat, gloves and hat as we will go out to play when possible.

You may wish to consider sending your child to school in old shoes/wellies/walking boots if there is snow underfoot.  Please have their school shoes in their school bag to change into.
