Newport In Bloom

You may be aware that as a school we work closely with Newport in Bloom and ‘normally’ help them planting around our community.

Currently this won’t be possible however they have asked for our help…..

They have produced a display on Boughy Road corner and are asking for children to contribute to this.  If children would like to paint a rock or use natural materials to display a bug design they are welcome to place these on the display.

If your child does produce a ‘bug’ for the display please do email us a photo, we would love to share our contributions!

Rocksteady Music Lessons

Rocksteady music lessons have resumed with a bang since school has reopened and it is great to see and hear how much the children are enjoying them. Rocksteady lessons are a fantastic opportunity for children to have fun learning an instrument (keyboard, guitar, drums, singing) with their peers in a modern style. This week, children will be watching a short video from our NJS band leader Becky with some information on what is involved in the lessons. Here is a letter with details of how to contact Rocksteady to enrol your child.

Commuication!

Whilst we aren’t able to meet or talk in person please remember that teachers are contactable by email if you need anything.

Please use their individual email addresses rather than the year group ones.

You can of course leave a message in the office for your class teacher if you would prefer to talk on the telephone and they will call you back when they are able.

Thank you for your support.

Recovery Curriculum

Parents and Carers,

I just wanted to write to let you know what we have been doing for our Recovery Curriculum over the last week.

We have responded to the feedback from yourselves and the children received following our September Recovery Curriculum and ahead of the March ‘return’… parents and children felt that routine and ‘familiarity’ were a large part of what the children needed and wanted as well of course as time with friends to rebuild relationships.

Our Recovery Curriculum over the last week has blended ‘traditional’ curriculum lessons with recovery activity that has included increased PSHE, PE and mindfulness sessions as well as team building activity and opportunity to talk.

Teachers have a range of resources that they can and will use over the coming days and weeks to respond to the needs of the children as appropriate with a priority, as always, on their wellbeing.

We hope this helps you to understand our curriculum offer at this time.  If you do have any concerns please don’t hesitate to contact your class teacher or myself.
