At NJS we want to work together with families to share information.

*Please ensure you have signed up on the website to receive newsletters and any daily updates from us.  (Scroll to bottom of the website home page, click on newsletter, input your details)

*ParentPay account for pupils who were with us remain active from last year.  New families will imminently receive activation letters: please activate your ParentPay account immediately to make school meal payment and to prepare for clubs.

*If you use social media please follow us on Facebook and Twitter where we share good news stories and also offer useful reminders.

*All children have a homelink book.  Children will bring messages and reminders home for you in these books: please encourage them to use them.  You can also record messages for the class teacher in this book (just remind your child to show them!)

*Teachers are on the playground in the morning and evening.  In the morning please be mindful they need to get their classes settled so this is really only a time for quick, essential messages.  In the afternoon they may have more time if you need to discuss anything with them.

*Please do contact the office if you would like a call with your child’s class teacher and they will pass this message onto them.  You can of course also email teachers (please keep in mind teachers will not reply in the evening; we need to support them to have a work life balance).

We have had a wonderful three days welcoming the children into school; they have been super!

We are especially proud of children who are new to NJS: predominantly in Year 3 but also those who have joined us in other year groups.  You have all been a delight.

We are looking forward to new adventures in 23-24!

Parents and carers are invited to school on Monday 11th September at 2pm for a workshop with Vicki Ridgewell.

Vicki is providing an informative session in all Telford school for primary school parents and carers.

We look forward to seeing you if you are able to attend.

On your child’s swimming day please send them with trunks/costume, towel, goggles and a swimming cap.

Each half term each class will have half a day in our outdoor learning provision ‘Beech’s Base’, sessions will be led by Miss Lockwood.  Children will complete learning activities outdoors linked to their wider curriculum topics.

On a day that the children are attending Beech’s Base they can attend for school in their outdoor clothing.  Children must wear wellies, long sleeves and long trousers for Beech’s Base.  They may also need waterproofs.  Clothes should be old as they are very likely to get dirty!

Malinsgate Police Station to open its doors to the public

We’re opening the doors to Malinsgate Police Station in Telford to the public next month for a unique look behind the scenes of West Mercia Police.

The public are invited to come along on Sunday 10 September, between 12pm and 4pm, to meet their local policing teams, as well as explore the station’s custody suite.

People will get the chance investigate a crime scene, meet our police dogs, speak to their local officers and even find out how they could join West Mercia Police.

The event is open to all ages, and entertainment for children will also be provided.

Inspector Richard Jones, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the public to come along and meet some of their local officers and share any concerns or thoughts they may have with us.

“The day will offer members of the public a unique look at what a working police station looks like, as well being able to sit in a police car and visit custody.

“There will also be lots of entertainment in place for children, including a guest appearance by our force’s mascot PC Peeler.

“The event is completely free, and I would encourage anyone interested in policing, or anyone who wants to experience first hand what our job looks like, to come along on the day.”

A number of external exhibitors are also expected to be there on the day, including other emergency services.

Or maybe you’re police staff and thinking of becoming an officer, this event is perfect as you get the opportunity to speak to officers and experience policing first hand.
