6J Maths – Division using Place Value

Maths Success at Wrekin College

We are so incredibly proud of our Year 6 mathematicians who recently took part in a Maths Challenge at Wrekin College.

Our team of 4 – Noah, Eva, Sofia & Theo – competed against 30 other school from across Shropshire in a series of complex fluency, reasoning & problem solving challenges.

We are delighted to say that our team achieved 3rd position and were narrowly behind the runners up. They received certificates during our Whole School Celebration Assembly as well as some gifts from Wrekin College.

We are delighted that our children got the opportunity to showcase their mathematical ability and they deserve great praise, not just for their 3rd place finish, but for how they represented our school within the county competition.

Yr 6 Food Diary

All children in Yr 6 will be receiving a food diary for them to complete by the end of this week. They need to record a full days worth of food on the sheet provided. This is in preparation for our ‘Eat Well’ session taking place next week which supports the children in making healthy food choices as well as teaching them about the different components of foods.
