Yr 6 Message – PLEASE READ.

Over the last few weeks, we have dealt with multiple incidents of children buying/selling items from one another during the school day. This has resulted in arguments and upset for certain children. In some cases, parents were unaware that children had obtained the money from the house to bring into school.

Please can we ask that parents remain vigilant for children coming home with new items or for children brining money into school.

Many thanks for your support.

Yr 6 Shrewsbury Visit

We had a brilliant day looking at the Tudor heritage throughout Shrewsbury. We visited Henry Tudor Inn which is where Henry VII stayed on his way to Bosworth, we also looked at Tudor architecture and famous places from within the town linked to our learning back in school. The children were fantastic and seemed to enjoy their day out! Thank you to all the staff for making this trip happen.

Lower School Football

Well done to the lower school football team who competed in a local tournament this morning. They played well, winning 2 of their matches permitting them a place in the 3rd V 4th play-off match in which they triumphed 2-0. Well done!

Year 6 Shrewsbury Visit – Parent Pay

Please can we ask that you log onto Parent Pay and ensure permission has been given for your child to attend the visit.

A reminder that children are expected to wear school uniform plus comfortable footwear such as trainers and have a packed lunch with them.

Please ensure homework is completed to a high standard of presentation.

Weekly Reminders

Next week we will be completing some formal assessments. These will benefit the children by allowing them to develop their time management skills under test conditions and will also provide teachers with an up-to-date insight into the areas of learning that we have covered. Information about these will be provided at the upcoming parents’ meetings.

6J Computing

In computing today, Mrs Yates was teaching 6J how to use a conditional statement to compare variables to a value. Essentially making a compass using Microsoft MakeCode and a micro-bit!

Bike/Scooter Licence – PLEASE READ.

In addition to introducing our mobile phone licence, we have also created a bike/scooter licence for children in Yr 6 following an increase in the number of children riding these whilst on school site, with several recent incidents which nearly ended in injury.

This will work in the same way as the mobile phone licence and will ensure that children are using their bikes/scooters in the appropriate way when on school site.

Children have been reminded today that they are to dismount from their bikes/scooter upon arrival at school and should not use them again until they are on Avenue Rd/off school site.

If you would like any more information on this, please contact a member of the Yr 6 team.

Many thanks.
