Just some reminders:
*Children must not attend for school with COVID symptoms. These have been clarified by the Health Protection Hub: cough, high temperature, loss/change in taste/smell as well as the wider symptoms of COVID-19 – sore throat, headache, fatigue, muscle aches, blocked/runny nose, shortness of breath, diarrhoea and vomiting, and cold-like symptoms.
*IF children ARE symptomatic the Health Hub have confirmed they must still book a PCR test and must not return to school until a result has been received. Please advise the school.
*IF a child is asymptomatic they can use lateral flow tests: if they test positive on an LFT then they can commence isolation from the day they test positive. In this circumstance there is no need to book a PCR. Please advise the school.
*PLEASE NOTE FROM MONDAY:
People who are self-isolating with COVID-19 will have the option to reduce their isolation period after 5 full days if they test negative with a lateral flow device (LFD) test on both day 5 and day 6 and they do not have a temperature. For example, if they test negative on the morning of day 5 and the morning of day 6, they can return to their education or childcare setting immediately on day 6.
The first test must be taken no earlier than day 5 of the self-isolation period, and the second must be taken the following day. All test results should be reported to NHS Test and Trace.
If the result of either of their tests is positive, they should continue to self-isolate until they get negative results from two LFD tests on consecutive days or until they have completed 10 full days of self-isolation, whichever is earliest.
If you have queries about whether your child should attend for school we would ask that you contact us before bringing your child by calling 01952 386600 or emailing nicola.moody@taw.org.uk
Thank you for your support.
