Year 3 made dragon masks and completed maths using Chinese numbers, Year 4 made monkey origami and masks which explained what the colour red means, Year 5 made Chinese lanterns, fans, hand shaped dragons, completed a Chinese reading comprehension task and learnt Chinese songs and Year 6 made silhouette fish, paper chain dragons and based their literacy around Chinese culture. Mrs Milward organised a change to the school lunch making some delicious Chinese food and Mrs Guan donated prawn crackers for the children to try. Jessica Guan, from class 5H, helped Mr Rotherham explain to the children about Chinese New Year and how people outside China will celebrate. She also told the whole school a traditional Chinese legend, which explains New Year.
