Email Bulletin – All
Wow – What a School Family!
After asking for a lorry and a driver to support NJS with this years Newport Carnival, our school family have rallied around yet again! I am so grateful for all the emails and offers of support, I now know where to turn if I ever need a vehicle!!
A huge thank you to Mr Cintas (Charlie’s Dad from Yr. 3), who was the first to offer at 8pm on Monday night and kindly met me at school this morning to discuss the logistics for the day. He has kindly offered his lorry and his time to drive and support us on Saturday 11th June.
Using his lorry does mean we will be able to get a lot more children on board than we usually do.
At this stage, as a staff, we are still planning our overall theme and are busy thinking of the decorations, costumes needed for our float. Please look out for any carnival letters that the children will be bringing home – this will offer your child chance to ride on the float or walk with the float and will also advise how you as parents can help decorate our float.
Thanks for all the support again.

CLUB REMINDER!
Clubs have started today! Please remember to check each Friday any amendments to clubs for the following week.
There are a couple of clubs still available with spaces and these are available on Parent Pay for you to sign up to.
Mental Health Awareness Week
Next week is National Mental Health Awareness Week. We are celebrating this at NJS this week. Today children had a special assembly – they learnt about and discussed what mental health is, and why and how to look after their mental health.
We also discussed the theme of National Mental Health Awareness Week this year – loneliness – and how this can affect someone’s mental health and wellbeing.
We are running a competition to mark the awareness week – details here…
Newport Carnival – Lorry Required!
To keep up with Newport Junior’s tradition we are again entering Newport Carnival on Saturday 11th June. However, our usual lorry is unavailable and our local driver has left the company.
Therefore we need your help!!
Do you have access to a lorry? Are you a driver who could borrow a lorry? Would you be willing to give up some time on Saturday 11th June to support school?
Please get in touch with me if you can help, on ben.moody@taw.org.uk
Newport Carnival is on Saturday 11th June, meaning we would require the lorry from end of play on Friday 10th June to give us plenty of time to decorate it. We would also require a driver on the day (Sat 11th) from 10am until roughly 1/1.30pm (when the carnival finishes!)
Many thanks
Mr M
This year’s theme is obviously the “Queen’s Platinum Jubilee” – we are thinking of looking at the Queen through her 70 years reign.
Looking forward to a positive response.
URGENT: Club Reminder!!!
Clubs start next week!
There are spaces available to many of our clubs on ParentPay: please ensure you have signed your child up to the clubs they wish to attend otherwise they will not be allocated a place.
Please do this as soon as possible!
Thank you for your support.
