Maths Monthly Newsletter – First Edition!
Happy Half Term!
We are very pleased to launch our first edition of Maths Monthly – a monthly newsletter which will keep you up to date with Maths within school, offer some challenges to attempt at home, and provide some key messages including what you can do to support your child’s learning at home.
This edition has a lower/upper KS2 challenge, as well as explaining what each year group has been learning this week, plus what they will be learning on their return to school.
Have a wonderful half term break!

World Book Day: 3rd March
Just a reminder that World Book Day is celebrated on the 3rd March and children are invited to come to school dressed as a favourite book character!
We can’t wait to see their costumes and thought we’d like to give you the same opportunity…
Parents and Carers are invited onto the main playground at 9am to watch a parade of children in their costumes! If you are able to stay after drop off to watch please make your way through the black gates off Avenue Road. We imagine this taking 15/20 minutes and is weather dependent.
Thank you for your support.

Random Act of Kindness Day!
NJS staff were very keen to mark this National day today! Lots of acts of kindness amongst the team creating lots of smiles, I wonder if your children spotted any?!
Get Caught Reading Photograph.
Why not take part in our photo competition, Get Caught Reading over half term?
Open the document to read the details.
Thank you,

Children’s Mental Health Week
This week is Children’s Mental Health Week. The wellbeing of all members of our NJS family is at the heart of our school. Understanding ‘what is my mental health?‘ is vital for looking after our wellbeing. This week, these slides will be shared with children. They will be having discussions with staff and completing a piece of work following this.
Why not use this to open up a conversation at home this week about wellbeing with your children?
Have a great week everyone! Mrs Wheat x
