We invite children to come to school dressed as a favourite book character on World Book Day: Thursday 2nd March 2023.
On Thursday 2nd March (World Book Day) we invite parents to wait on the main playground following drop off for a World Book Day parade.
At 9am we will bring all of the children out to parade around the main playground for parents to see their wonderful costumes.
We anticipate this will finish by 9.30am at the very latest.
Please understand this event is weather permitting.
Telford and Wrekin catering have asked me to apologise… there was a last minute menu change today and rather than the expected curry the children were offered bolognaise.
MENU CHANGE TOMORROW: sausage, wedges and mixed vegetables followed by sponge and custard.
Normal menu returns on Wednesday, week 3.
Shropshire Star school tokens start on Wednesday 1st March. We would be very grateful if as many tokens as possible could be collected and placed in our box in Reception. Please tell your friends, family and neighbours to give you their tokens for NJS!
We hope you all had a lovely half term.
This poem was shared in assembly today and we talked about how books can take you anywhere.
I have set a challenge for the children to write their own version of the poem, if they want to have a go.
Each day of the week they can pick a different kind of book to inspire the verse of their poem. Poems to be handed back to Mr R.
Our dressing up day as part of Book Week is a fun and favourite fixture in our school year. This year it is Thursday 2nd March.
There is no intention to ask you to spend large amounts of money to purchase pre-made costumes. The link below, to mumsnet.com, has ideas for cheap and easy book character costume ideas.
We would love all the children to get involved and come in costume. Home-made, simple costumes will be just perfect!
