Clubs

Every child will be bringing home a slip tonight which tells them about the clubs they have signed up for.

Teachers and NJS staff, for some clubs, have had to split the clubs due to the demand.

The children will be told whether or not they are now (this week) or next term.

Provision has been made for all children expecting to attend a club tonight.

For Mr Leonards competitions club – this is for children who have been selected for the team – this is not a general come along club. Exception for the slips are below.

Yr 4/5 Dance Club – Monday; no slip as they can all attend

Beech’s Base – Head Teacher’s Award Children

Good Morning

Congratulations to the children who received a Head Teacher’s Award yesterday. These children are invited to Beech’s Base on Monday lunchtime, they can arrive in school uniform as time will be given to change. Hopefully you received your invite outlining what you need to bring but here is a brief reminder:

  • Wellies/Outdoor Footwear
  • Old clothing (Even though the forecast is looking warm children need to wear trousers and long sleeved tops to ensure they have a layer of protection from brambles and nettles)
  • Packed Lunch
  • Your invite
  • Optional waterproof trousers or all in one for water fun.

Children will change after their session, this can be into another pair of old clothes and footwear rather than uniform to save it getting muddy!

If you have any questions please email me: jeni.kuczynska@taw.org.uk

Many thanks

Mrs Kuczynska

Yr. 4 Residential Visit to: Manor Adventure – Culmington Manor, Craven Arms.

Dear Parents/Carers of Year 4 Pupils

At Newport Junior School, we are very proud of the residential opportunities we offer all our children. They need commitment from our staff and parents to enable these invaluable experiences to take place

Following the success of previous year’s year 4 trip to Manor Adventure, we have provisionally booked places for our year 4 pupils from 4-6th April 2021.  The cost of the trip will be £190.

We appreciate that for many of you, that this will be the first-time you child has been away from home and you may be unaware of what that trip involves.  We have arranged a presentation/meeting to inform you about the trip and give you an opportunity to ask some questions.

We will be holding the meeting on Tuesday 5th October at 3.30pm in the school hall.

If you wish to attend so I can gage numbers, please let me know by emailing me on ben.moody@taw.org.uk

At this meeting Mrs Green/Mrs Stanley will also be accepting a deposit/first payment of £60 which will ensure your child has a place. Places are limited on this residential, but as ever I will do all I can to include any of the children wishing to attend.

Kindest regards,

Mr B Moody

Earth Day Final Call

After receiving lots and lots of entries for the pumpkin and sunflower growing competition, showing the weights of the pumpkins via scales and the sizes of the sunflowers with tape measures etc – the deadline for entries is end of the school day on Wednesday (22nd). I will be announcing the winners during celebration assembly on Thursday (23rd!)

Many children have sent the confirmed images into school showing the scaled weight and the measured height as they would like to continue the growth of their plants – this we fully understand.

If their are any more entries then please send them directly to me via email; ben.moody@taw.org.uk

Hi All

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend. Tomorrow we will be inviting the very first children to Beech’s Base. These will be the children who were awarded a Head Teacher’s Award last week. Hopefully you received your invite outlining what you need to bring but here is a brief reminder:

  • Packed Lunch
  • Your invite (If you have it!!)
  • Optional waterproof trousers or all in one for water fun.

Children will change after their session, this can be into another pair of old clothes and footwear rather than uniform to save it getting muddy!

In addition to this we are hoping to invite classes as soon as possible, thank you for being patient. We have had some delays to the completion of the site due to supply issues but are hopeful the finishing touches will be all sorted soon!
