Parents and Carers,

I have received a complaint from a neighbour on St Nicholas’ Park regarding parking at school collection times.  It has been reported that parents are parking on private driveways and blocking access to private properties.  The resident advised she has logged the issue with the Police.

I am also aware of parental concern regarding cars that park opposite the school gates: parking here makes it very difficult for pedestrians to cross the roads safely.

Please can I remind everyone about safe and considerate parking.  We want to set the best example for our children showing consideration for others and their property and by parking in places that mean our roads and pavements remain safe for pedestrians.

I appreciate parking on roads local to NJS is tricky however as a school we recommend that you park on the Car Park besides Shuker Field or one of the town car parks and make the short walk safely to school. We also want to maintain good relationships with our neighbours and would appreciate your support with this.

NJS would appreciate your support in keeping our roads safe.

Summer Fair

Please remember it is our summer fair on Tuesday 2nd July.

Please send in any gifts, prizes, tombola, white elephant goods, books etc into school. If you are attending the fair, please collect your child from their classrooms at 2pm.

So far not much has come into school – please have a clear out and send any suitable donations into school ASAP – children will need to liaise with their own class teacher as to where to send the donations!

Thank you to our amazing PTA for another very successful school disco!  The PTA work very hard to ensure the children have a great time and raise valuable funds to invest in school.

Thank you to the staff who volunteered to supervise the children and to parents and carers for supporting the event.

Jupiter Group are doing an apple bobbing competition at Newport Show this year, children who take part get the apple they’ve bobbed to eat, and a plastic coin to pop into a coin slot that represent their school – the school with the most coins at the end of the show day WINS a months free fruit for their school and £100 worth of sports equipment of their choice.

Please enter this competition on Show Day-we won last year and the children loved the free fruit at school!
