What a week we have had in 4J! We have been celebrating 50 years of Mr Men and Little Miss books in style. We started working with looking how each character shares a range of emotions.
We then designed our own characters… you will find some of these below!
We then finished the week in Mr Men and Little Miss style…
Good morning everyone…
We are so excited to be back in the swimming pool after half term! Please find the dates below that we are swimming… the children will need their swimming kit including: a towel, a swimming cap, goggles (optional) and appropriate swimming attire.
We understand some children may not have swum for a long time during covid. However, we will be there alongside the swimming teacher to help them build confidence.
Dates are as follows:
Thursday 10th June
Thursday 17th June
Thursday 24th June
Thursday 1st July
Thursday 8th July
We will send reminds for the swimming galas due to be at the Newport Swimming Pool after half term!
Have a lovely half term,
The Year 4 Team! 🙂
Today 4K completed Pedestrian Training
In the morning the children watched videos and completed tasks, this afternoon we all went out in groups and completed some road safety training.
All the children followed the Green Cross Code very well and I was super proud of them!

Good Afternoon!
We had a wonderful time celebrating Eurovision week as part of our Geography Whole School focus. Year 4 studied Sweden, we found out some fascinating facts and produced a line graph on the population changes. As a finale we performed ‘Waterloo’…
Enjoy!

Dear Parents
SWIMMING GALA DATE CHANGE
Due to Year 4 not using the swimming pool this year, the gala dates have been altered until after the children have begun school swimming in the NJS pool. The new dates are:
Monday 21st June – Yr 4 Red and Blue
Monday 28th June – Yr 4 Yellow and Green
This will help staff group children and understand the children’s swimming needs and water confidence.
Many thanks
Year 4 Team
What better way to begin Science Week than to experiment over the weekend! Well Done to Edward (4K) and his family for investigating how food colouring reacts in Milk!
Pedestrian Training, led by T&W’s Road Safety teams is coming up for children in years 3 and 4 over the next few weeks. A letter informing you of this will be coming home tomorrow.
It can also be found here: pedestrian training

4J had a great time testing different rocks in science today. They were testing to see how strong they were; the ability to absorb water and what happens when faced with an acid. The children worked in small groups and used a paper clip, water and vinegar to carry out this experiment!
