Can you help with our Senior Citizens Christmas Tea Party?

This event will be held on Wednesday 5th December at 2pm.  Year 6 children will be hosting our guests and providing entertainment.

We would be very grateful if Year 6 children could bring in donations of cakes and/or raffle prizes for this community event.

Thank you for your support.

PS Remember to invite someone along!

Spelling homework due 21st November

Due to the changes in the Literacy curriculum children in Year 6 are expected to be secure with all KS2 spellings. There will be no choice of spellings, in terms of degree of difficulty. All children, of all abilities, need to learn the following for next week:
medicine possess
special though
weight earth
famous length
surprise ordinary

To support with understanding definitions for spellings, the ‘Collins children’s cobuild dictionary’ is a very useful tool.

My apologies for the error last week – repeat of words. The above words have not been covered.

Homework due 21st November

Read at least 3 times and ask an adult to sign your reading diary to confirm.

Learn your spellings. Complete detailed sentences and definitions in your homework book.

Complete the word sort activity – chn need to sort words in to the table to identify
nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives.

Create a table with 4 headings: nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives. Make sure the table is neatly drawn with a ruler.

Sort all the words into the correct column determining what they are.

Homework!

Please see the attached spellings for the next week.

Spellings Wk 11

For homework, the children will be completing a comprehension task. Each question is for a specific reading skill (something which we have looked at in depth in guided reading). The children are more than welcome to highlight any information they feel they need in the question or the text itself.

Homework is due in Monday 19th or Tuesday 20th November. The spelling test will be Friday 23rd of November.

Finally, we will be swimming on Tuesday again until the end of this term.

Have a lovely weekend!

Children in Need

Reminder that we are supporting Children in Need tomorrow [Friday 16th).  Children are welcome to wear spots/mufti for a £1 donation to the charity.

If children would like to bring cake/biscuit donations for a break time sale we would be very grateful.  These will be available on the yard for 20p.

5H Class Assembly

5H’s class assembly is on Friday this week (16th.) Families are welcome to come and watch. Please arrive at the school office for 2.50pm.

NO MINDFULNESS CLUB THIS WEEK

A reminder that, as stated on the clubs list, there is no Mindfulness Club this week (tomorrow – Wednesday 14th Nov) as I am on a course. The children have been reminded in assemblies.

Thank you, Miss H
