England Rocks – Results!

A huge well done and congratulations to all the children who took part in the England Rocks Competition on TTRS.

Special mentions to 1st place class: 5M, 2nd place class: 5J and 3rd place class: 6J 🙂

Some phenomenal individual results were recorded and children will receive certificates next week for their efforts.

Certificates to be given out are –

  • Top 3 classes in the school (based on average score).
  • Top 3 students in the school.
  • Top 3 students in each class.

We will publish the full results once the children have received their certificates 🙂

4OP Violin!

Another super week of violin for 4OP! They are beginning to get ready for the mini performance planned on Wednesday 29th November.

We look forward to seeing you all! The children are really excited to show you how much they have discovered over the weeks. The violin is not an easy instrument to play and each week they have shown a great amount of resilience.

Being a ‘Bully Buster’ in 4OP!

ANTI-BULLYING WEEK 2023!

4OP have had a fantastic start to anti-bullying week! This year the theme is make a noise about bullying and we’ve spent some time looking at what bullying is.

We have discussed different scenarios and even had an assembly led by wellbeing mentors from BBS pupils.

We want to be a bully buster in 4OP… someone who spots bullying and makes the right choices. Someone who helps others and makes a noise about something happening that doesn’t feel right.

4OP are really clear on how bullying is repetitive and intentional and even looked at what ‘banter’ is.

Well done 4OP!!!

4N Area in Maths

Today, 4N began a new maths topic on ‘Area’ and challenged me to create as many 2D shapes as possible that had an area of 6 cubes! The children also did the same task, creating different shapes with 4 cubes. Here are just some of the possible options with 6 cubes!

4N Beech’s Base

A reminder for parents and carers of children in 4N…

Tomorrow afternoon, 4N will be spending time in Beech’s Base. Children can come to school dressed in their Beech’s Base clothing, along with a change of footwear and a change of clothing if you wish.

Many Thanks,

Mrs N 🙂

England Rocks 🎸

Dear parent/carer,

As part of our commitment to make maths exciting and high profile in our school, we are taking part in a friendly competition involving schools in England. The competition runs from 07:30 Tuesday 14th November 2023 to 19:30 Thursday 16th November 2023. It’s all done online on TTRS.

Children can play in any gamemode with every correct answer to a multiplication or division question, earning themselves, their class and the school a point. The Times Tables Rock Stars platform will calculate the class average (the number of correct answers per pupil in the class who play during the competition hours, subject to a daily 60-minute limit (see below)). Winning classes in the school and in the competition as a whole will be the ones with the highest average.

To support player wellbeing, there is a daily time limit of 60-minutes per player. In other words, each player can earn competition points for up to 60-minutes between 07:30 Tuesday 14th November 2023 to 19:30 Thursday 16th November 2023. Once the player goes beyond 60-minutes of play on that day, they will still earn coins but will no longer earn points towards the competition.

In the spirit of the competition, please don’t play on their behalf but by all means encourage and support them to the extent that it doesn’t cause high stress levels or impact on family plans.
