As part of our ‘dance’ topic, during PE, we have been looking at some New Zealand Hakas. We learnt some of the moves and how the moves are repeated in beats of 2 or 4. We then tried to create our own in groups of 5. Well done class 6B.

Creative Writing @ Adams Grammar School with a group of Yr5 children!

With a sense of excitement, the children of NJS arrived finally at the imposing gates of Adams Grammar School.

As they began to write, their faces were full of concentration. Pens moving at high speed as ink began to flow. An image of a bone chilling castle was there on display.

’Describe the setting using exciting adjectives,’ was the clear instruction.

Lets begin…

’The obsidian darkness, the sound of the owl’s hooting. Creating an unsettling feeling as moonlight shone, illuminating side of the huge grey castle wall’.

Composed by the Yr5 writers!

Year 3 boys’ football

On Friday afternoon the year 3 boys’ football team played at NJS against St Peter and St Paul primary school.

NJS played excellently winning 4-0 with all 4 goals coming from Harry H. The opposition’s goalkeeper was forced into some superb saves too!

All 12 children represented NJS outstandingly, demonstrating our school values throughout the game as well as playing some excellent football too.

Well done to all those who played and thank you to all the adults who came to watch.
