Year 3 spellings and homework to be tested 5.7.19

Dear Parents,

Year 3 Spellings to be tested 5.7.19

Apologies for the late posting of this.

Please help your child to read at least every day, recording at least 3 entries per week in their reading diaries. Please support your child to learn their spellings, putting each word into a sentence, in context. Children have a TTRS challenge this week, against the other Year 3 classes. Please support them with this, by allowing access to TTRS at home.

Thank you.

Annual School Reports will be sent home over the next week or so.  If your family require more than one copy of a report please make a request through the school office.

REMiNDER: Open Evening

Reminder that Open Evening is Wednesday 10th July 3.30-6pm.

On this evening, at 4.30pm in the school hall, PC Walker-Shale will be delivering a workshop offering strategies to support your children with online safety; this is incredibly important with the increase in social media and online gaming.  We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.

Summer Fair: Tuesday 2pm!

Summer Fayre Letter – Tuesday 2nd July

Please remember your donations for the Summer Fair on Tuesday!

The Summer Fair begins at 2pm; remember your pennies!

Children may be collected at 2pm to visit the Fair together.  Any children who are not collected may visit the fair and will be dismissed as usual at 3.30pm.

Years 5 and 6 Sports Day: Wednesday 3rd July 1.30pm

Please can we remind you that the rearranged date for Upper School Sports Day is Wednesday 3rd July 1.30pm.

Children may come to school on Wednesday in their PE kit ideally with their House Colour t shirt.

Sun Cream!

If the lovely weather continues please can we remind you to send children to school with sun hats and sun cream.  Staff cannot apply sun cream for children therefore we recommend you discuss with your child how and when to apply it.

Please remember water bottles too!

Year 6 PE

There are a high number of children in Year 6 not bringing their PE kits into school. Can all Year 6 children remember to bring their kits in on a Monday and leave in school all week please? When the weather is nice we can take advantage and be outside at alternative times.

Thank you for your support!

Y6 homework due 3rd July

Year 6 are only being asked to record their reading this week. Please encourage your child to read as much as possible and record their reading in their reading record.

Y6 trip to Crucial Crew

Children are coming home tonight with a letter regarding Crucial Crew. Crucial Crew is an event organised between Telford and Wrekin and all the emergency services. Children learn how to respond to scenarios and learn how to make informed decisions about safety.

The event is held at TCAT. This will take place on the 11th of July.

Please read the letter for more details or speak to a member of the Year 6 team.

Please return slips as soon as possible. The deadline for slips is Friday 5th July.

Thank you for your support!
