Class Assembly – 4J!

4J are very excited to show you our class assembly next week! We’ve got a few surprises up our sleeves.

For anyone wishing to come, the performance is Friday 12th October at 2:50pm.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Tag Rugby

A reminder to all year 4 parents that children will need trainers, shorts, jogging bottoms and a top for P.E tomorrow. Andy Protheroe will be taking children for tag rugby sessions in the afternoon.

Many thanks,

Mrs Sisson

Homework – Week 5!

Spellings Wk 5

As well as the children’s spellings, they will be focusing on learning the 6 times tables.

We would like the children to do some research this week.

What are the Northern Lights? Where can they be seen? Why do they take place? You can present what you have found out however you like. (Homework book, poster, presented on a computer etc.)

We are going to give children 2 weeks to work on this project.

Homework is due Monday 8th or Tuesday 9th of October.

Next week the children will only be given spellings for the following week.

Can you help?

As the children’s science topic is light this half term, it would be really useful if they could bring in a torch as soon as possible. They will be using them on Friday and throughout the rest of the half term.

It would be really helpful… the brighter, the better! (And with batteries inserted).

If you can help, please send your child into class with a labelled torch as soon as possible. To avoid misplacing the torches we will collect them in and look after them until your child needs them.

Thank you for your support!

Mrs Sisson, Miss Jones and Mrs Humphries.

Homework – Week 4!

Please see the spellings attached for each group. The children will be tested next Friday (28.09.18).

Spellings Wk 4

Homework

Continue to read at least three times this week at home and record in in your reading diary. Learn your 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10x tables.

In your homework book, using 24 as your target number, show as many different ways you can reach this number using + – x and ÷. For example: 6 x 4 = 24. 45 – 21 = 24

Welcome back!

Welcome back to what we hope is going to be a fantastic year at NJS!

We’ve had such a great day with the children and enjoyed hearing all about their summer holidays.

P.E for this term:

4J will be Tuesday and Friday

4S will be Thursday and Friday

4F will be Monday and Friday

Homework

Homework and spellings are due to be handed out on a Friday and will also be put onto the website. We would like the children to bring it back homework on Monday or Tuesday the following week. We will test them on their spellings the following Friday.

Homework also includes reading 3 times at home over the week with an adult. This will be checked every Tuesday in their reading diaries.

Design and Technology

The children are due to start their D&T topic next Wednesday. We are asking for anny materials you see fit to build a polar shelter (Not life size)! We would advise not to bring toilet rolls and would suggest materials such as: cardboard, tissue paper, twigs, fabric etc. We are kindly asking for these to be in school by Tuesday 11th September.
