Year 2/3 Transition afternoon / Deer Park replacement!

Newport Infants and Juniors enjoyed a fun and friendly day today, taking part in several activities designed to help Year 2 and 3 get to know each other, as part of the Infants transition to Newport Juniors, despite the heat!

Year 3: Deer Park Visit Update….

Morning Year 3 families

In light of the forecast for tomorrow we have decided to cancel the visit to the Deer Park.  It will be very hot for the children to walk there and back as well as then spending the day outside.

We don’t want to lose the transition opportunity with Newport Infant School so they will instead be spending the day here at NJS with us.

Please can children wear PE kit and bring a water bottle and packed lunch as planned as we will have a picnic with Year 2 as part of our rearranged day.

Thank you for your support and understanding

Class 3B Hate Crime Workshop photos!

Class 3B and all of Year 3 enjoyed learning about the Law and Hate Crimes today and even got to sit in a very soggy Police car!

PE Kits / Toys

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has come to my attention that children are regularly bringing in ‘Fugglers’ (collectable keychain / rings with small characters attached) and other small toys. Unfortunately, these items are not allowed in class. Therefore, please ensure they stay at home from now on.

On another note, please ensure your child has their PE kit in school EVERY day. This is because we are taking opportunities to practice for Sports Day, which may be on any day of the week. This allows for maximum flexibility.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mr Butler

Year 3 Library Visit

Year 3 had a wonderful visit to the town library yesterday. They learned all about how to join the library, they heard all about the Summer Reading Challenge and they had a story with Kirsty.

Thank you to the Newport Library staff and for Mrs Breen for organising our visit.

This is 3B’s visit to the library.
