Due to an increase in the number of incidents of mobile phone/bike & scooter usage on school site, on Monday we will be issuing a Mobile Phone Licence to those children in Yr 6 who bring their phone to school. This is something we have done in previous years and found it works well.
As we have stated, children are not to use their mobile phone whilst on schools grounds, and should they be found to be doing so, they will receive a mark on their licence. If a child receives 3 marks, they will no longer be allowed to bring their phone to school for the remainder of the term. This is in line with the Mobile Phone Policy which is published on our website that states “Should your child be found using their phone inappropriately, the school reserves the right to withdraw this privilege and they will no longer be able to bring their phone into school.”
Children have been spoken to about this and are aware of the rules and expectations around them.
As of Monday, there will also be a similar ruling in place for the use of bikes and scooters, where the same system will apply.
