6B Beech’s Base photos

Thank you to Miss Lockwood for giving the children in class 6B an amazing forest school experience in Beech’s Base yesterday. The children enjoyed making blackberry jam, on the fire, and sampled it on toast! They also had fun building shelters in the forest area, as part of their design technology project. Well done everyone!

REMINDER: Jeans for Genes FRIDAY!

For example: change your school trousers for your jeans or denim shorts or your white polo shirt for a blue t shirt!

6J Reminder

A reminder for children in 6J that they will be in Beech’s Base on Friday.

As it is also Jeans 4 Genes day, we advise that children come to school in their jeans, and the top half of their forest clothing; they will then be able to change into their bottom half of forest clothing at lunch time.

5K music

Year 5 have been enjoying the Viking music unit, learning to sing ‘Heave Ho’ and write musical notation.

Week 2 8th-12th September 3P

We had another busy week in 3P last week.

Last Wednesday we had some special visitors! I was in a meeting at the time, with Mr Moody and Mr Butler, so when the children said three farmers had visited I was as surprised as they were! Apparently, Farmer Boggis, Bunce and Bean came and told them all about Mr Fox and how much they hated him because he kept stealing all of their animals. The children used open ended questions to interview the farmers. I’m still shocked that this all happened. I wonder if we’ll see Mr Fox next week??

We’ve also began our PE sessions last week. Kicking off with a ball skills session on Monday and a gymnastics session on Friday, looking at different balances.

In maths we’ve been working on partitioning numbers to 100 as well as completing number lines to 100.

We’ve also worked very hard to complete our baseline assessments.
