Year 3 Egyptian Day Monday 3rd February – Reminders

Dear Parents and Carers,

Just a quick reminder to use ParentPay to sign up to this event for your child, if you have not already done this.

Also, we would like to remind you of the invitation to get your child to join Mr Cadle (The History Man) and Mr Butler/Mr Moody and dress up like an Egyptian for the day!

Costumes can, but do not need to be expensive or bought, and can simply be a large adult-sized white t-shirt, made into a ‘tunic’, with a roped belt, some shorts underneath, and some form of Egyptian headwear.

Alternatively, an old pillow case can be fashioned into a tunic, with some carefully placed scissor cuts for head, arms etc, and an piece of string for a belt, or an old small sheet will do.

If you wish, you can also make headgear out of card templates, available online, or simple strips of fabric to make wristbands, and any old bead / garish jewellery will do to accessorize.

Charity shops are often a good source of items for this purpose.

If you have any questions, please speak with the Year 3 staff, who will be happy to advise.

Thank you for your continued support,

The Year 3 Team

6J Skills4Bills

6J had a brilliant time at their Skills 4 Bills session last Friday. The workshop was aimed at teaching children about smart financial choices, how debt works and how to be more efficient with spending. The children thoroughly enjoyed the session and learned lots about how to be safer with money!

Class 3B Art Shirts

Dear Parents and Carers,

If they have not got one here already, please could you send your child into school with an Art shirt tomorrow, to stay in school for Art lessons, to protect their clothing. We have a supply of old Art shirts for general use, but not enough for the whole class to use regularly.

Most children tend to bring in an old t-shirt or shirt of Mum or Dad’s, to wear over the top of their clothing. Please don’t go out and buy anything – the best solution is usually an old item that is sitting at the back of the drawer that is no longer worn by yourselves.

We will be doing Art tomorrow, which may require use of the Art shirt. The shirts are to be stored in lockers.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mr Butler & Mrs Jones

Careers Fair- Thursday 13th February

Dear Parents/ Carers,

On Thursday 13th February we will be holding a Careers Fair in the school hall, where all children will have the opportunity to visit the hall and talk to people about the job they do.

The idea is to inspire and engage the children in whole range of jobs they might like to do in the future. Children will be thinking about how the skills they learn in school are transferred into future careers.

The Careers Fair will be between 1.30pm and 3pm. The hall will be set out with tables, like a market.

Can you help? If you are available and are prepared to be in our hall ready to talk about your job, then we would love to include you in our Careers Fair. You may decide to bring in things to show to the children or leaflets to give out.

Ideally, I would love a range of Careers represented in the hall.

If you are able to offer your time to help then please phone the school office or email me directly:

Thank you,

Mr Rotherham
