Homework Y6

Children need to learn the words to their leavers song as homework for the remainder of time left at NJS.

There are 2 other songs for the children to sing but they are well-known to the children.

Please encourage your child to practise the words.

LEAVERS DAY! Thursday 18th July

The whole school will go straight to church for 8.50am for the Leavers Service.  Year 6 parents and carers are welcome to attend for this service.

At the end of the day Year 6 children are invited to stay for a leavers party hosted by NJS staff.  Children need to wear comfortable clothing and will be provided with a ‘chippy tea’!  Please collect children at 5pm from the main playground.

Y6 Tie-dye t-shirts

Children will need to bring a plain white t-shirt so they can make their tie-dye t-shirt on Wednesday 10th July. This is the only day available to make the t-shirts as the diary is so busy before the end of the school year.

Year 6 PE

There are a high number of children in Year 6 not bringing their PE kits into school. Can all Year 6 children remember to bring their kits in on a Monday and leave in school all week please? When the weather is nice we can take advantage and be outside at alternative times.

Thank you for your support!

Y6 homework due 3rd July

Year 6 are only being asked to record their reading this week. Please encourage your child to read as much as possible and record their reading in their reading record.

Y6 trip to Crucial Crew

Children are coming home tonight with a letter regarding Crucial Crew. Crucial Crew is an event organised between Telford and Wrekin and all the emergency services. Children learn how to respond to scenarios and learn how to make informed decisions about safety.

The event is held at TCAT. This will take place on the 11th of July.

Please read the letter for more details or speak to a member of the Year 6 team.

Please return slips as soon as possible. The deadline for slips is Friday 5th July.

Thank you for your support!

BBS visit Friday and Jar for Summer Fair

We are still awaiting permission slips for this visit, please complete and return before Friday.

On Friday, children are being asked to bring a jar for mufti, however as we are visiting Burton Borough, Y6 cannot wear mufti. Year 6 children need to be in school uniform, including green jumpers and cardigans. Year 6 children can still bring a jar but wear mufti on Tuesday (02.07.19) of next week instead.

Thank you for your support!

Yr 5/6 Sports Day – 25.6.19

Yr 5/6 Sports Day

Please can we remind the children and parents in Yr 5 and 6 that they can come to school in their PE kits ready for Sports Day – they do not need uniform.

Both Yr 5/6 children need school bags with their normal equipment, but year 5 children also need their swimming kits.

Thanks Mr M
