Year 6 weekly planner for week 5

Dear parents,

Please find below the weekly planner for week 5. Have a wonderful weekend.

Year 6 week 4 homework

Please find attached the homework and spellings for year 6 for week 4. Maths homework is on maths.co.uk.

English week 4 Spellings week 4

The English homework is very similar to the style of 3 mark questions that we regularly see on the KS2 Reading SATs paper. It would be great for your child to have a go.

Have a lovely weekend.

Football Success!

A huge well done to our Upper School Boys’ Football team who competed in the quarter-final of the Telford & Wrekin Plate Competition yesterday against Coalbrookdale.

After a bright first half NJS, took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Harvey and James, but had their lead halved when the opposition pulled a goal back leading to a very nervy second half where both teams had their fair share of chances – both goalkeepers making some fantastic saves. Hudson managed to hit the twice before Harry bagged 2 late goals to secure our place in the semi-final!

Well done boys! 🏆

Y5 6 Girls Football Club

Apologies this was missed off ParentPay, my fault.

There is now places available for Girls Football.  Please do sign up if your child would like to attend.

We have had such a busy start to 2026!! The children have all been working extremely hard in all areas of the curriculum. I’ve added a few photos into this post for you to have a look at.

In science this month we have been learning about the digestive system and teeth. We used mirrors to identify and name which teeth we had. Some of us have more than others at the moment. We learnt about incisors, pre molars, molars and canines. We have begun to compare our teeth to other animals.

In our maths sessions we have been looking at multiplication and division and in particular multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100.

We’ve also completed a dance unit on machines which we all got really stuck into.

The children also made their own papyrus paper in Monday’s art lesson with Mrs Ollerenshaw.

We’ve also mummified tomatoes! We checked on them yesterday and noted any differences from when they were first placed in the salt.

We’ve completed lots more amazing work, too much to mention.

Just a quick ask, I’m not seeing many homework books. The children have new homework handed to them every Friday.
