Jonathan Brown (our Giant African Land Snail) had a great time exploring the classroom this afternoon, and in the meantime we gave her tank a good clean! 🐌

Senior Citizens Christmas Tea Party

REMINDER: Wednesday at 2pm in the school hall Year 6 children will be entertaining senior citizens.  Please invite someone along.

Year 6 please remember we will be very grateful for donations of cakes or raffle prizes for this community event.

Thank you and Well done School Choir

Members of the school choir performed at the Civic carol Service this weekend.  They performed three songs in front of a packed church and were outstanding; we are very proud of them.  Thank you to Mrs Green for leading the choir and to parents and carers for supporting this event.

Spellings due 5th December

Due to changes in the Literacy curriculum in Year 6 children are expected to be secure with all KS2 spellings. There will be no choice in terms of degrees of difficulty. All children, of all abilities, need to learn the following for next week:

Please encourage not to use capitals unless required for the start of a sentence or a proper noun

Homework due 5th December

Read at least 3 times and ask an adult to sign your reading record to confirm. Children to record own comments so they can reflect on reading.

Learn spellings. Complete detailed sentences and definitions in your homework book.

How did the Ancient Greeks impact on the modern world? Think about: inventions, sports, food and education.
Information to be presented in an information leaflet, focusing on information rather than images.

Costumes – Lights Camel Action!

After raiding the drama cupboard, we have found some costumes for our Christmas production. If your child is one of the following, we have a costume for them in school.

Innkeeper’s wife, Mary, Joseph, Camels, Wise men, Angels, Shepherds and Innkeepers.

The following children will need to find a costume for the production.

Donkey – A donkey costume.

Caesar – A roman style costume.

Nazareth townspeople, husband and wife – Brown and grey clothing.

Sheep – A sheep costume

Star – All gold or silver clothing

Singers – Brown and grey clothing

Jive dancers – Bright clothing

Disco dancers – Bright and sparkly clothing

Tango dancers – Shirt and trousers (a tie if possible)

Line dancers – brown and grey clothing, a cowboys hat (only if you have one)
