Year 3 Trip tomorrow Wednesday 5th November

Dear Parents and Carers,

On Wednesday 5th November, we will be visiting the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms, as part of our History topic ‘Stone Age to Iron Age’. We aim to leave school at 9:00 am and will return to school by the end of the school day 3:00/3:15pm. This will be a fantastic experience for the children. Children will need to wear / bring the following things:

  • bring packed lunch and drink
  • wear a waterproof / winter coat and sturdy outdoor shoes
  • Permission – given on ParentPay – most have already done this but still a few ‘stragglers!

Any children who are in receipt of free school meals will have a meal provided for them from our school kitchen, if one has been requested last term (children were asked during the last week of the first half term).

If you would like any more information on the trip please do not hesitate to speak to your child’s class teacher.

Thank you for your support,

The Year 3 Team

Reminder! – Year 3 need SWIMMING KITS every Monday

Dear Parents and Carers,

Just a reminder to make sure your child has their swimming kit every Monday for this half term, starting tomorrow, Monday 3rd November. This comprises of:

  • swimming costume / trunks
  • towel
  • goggles (if required)
  • swimming hat (to prevent filter clogging from hairs).

During the first lesson, children will be assessed and grouped according to ability, and any necessary flotation aids will be provided. Tell them not to worry – it will be very supported. Please approach us tomorrow morning on the playground if you have any concerns.

The Swimming lesson replaces what would normally be the Monday PE lesson for Year 3 children, but we still recommend bringing in PE kit from Mon-Fri, as there have been times when Swimming has not taken place for a variety of reasons, so we have done normal PE lessons instead.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards,

The Year 3 Team.

Y6 DT Days

Hope you and all of the children have had a restful half term! This week, all 3 classes will be having a Design and Technology Day with Mrs Lane creating their Shelters that they have planned over the first term. If children can bring in resources/materials (lollipop sticks, felt, cardboard, milk cartons, plastic bottles etc) to help them create their shelter they are more than welcome to. The more creative the merrier!

6M and 6J have planned their shelters so should know what they plan to do. 6B will be planning before making their shelter this week. The DT days for each class this week are:

6M – Tuesday

6J – Wednesday

6B – Thursday

Thanks as always for your continued support.

Mr Marsh
