Stonehenge Sponge!

Like his brother, James in year 3 took his Stonehenge studies to the next level, building an amazing sponge cake model of Stonehenge. Well done James – it looks like you had some fun!

Year 3 Homework reminder

Dear Parents and Year 3 children,

Just a quick reminder that Year 3 Spellings and homework are due on Monday 19th October, next week.

Spellings will be tested any time from Monday onwards next week and the Stonehenge poster that children were asked to produce is also due at the same time. This will be displayed in the Year 3 Art display area.

Children should also bring in their orange homework books to show their teachers what they have been doing to practice spellings, maths and any other activities in support of their learning.

I have attached the homework sheets below as a reminder of the tasks.

3W Chetwynd Deer Park Trip

Just a couple of quick photos from Deer Park yesterday. We had a great day, got very wet and muddy and learnt how to identify/age trees. We really enjoyed going on the tractor and spotting the deer in the wildlife.

Year 3 Chetwynd Deer Park Day Photos

Year 3 Children had a brilliant day out today, despite the weather only being suitable for ducks! Here is a selection of some of the photos taken, of Class 3B + 1/2 class 3P.  We had great fun in the morning at school, building bug hotels, completing scavenger hunts and investigating a wasp’s nest, kindly donated by Mr Rotherham.

In the afternoon, we walked to and from the park, completing a tractor ride, hunting the elusive deer (we saw them running away from us!), measuring tree trunks and aging the trees – one of which was over 500 years old.

Well done Year 3, for behaving exceptionally well, and ‘doing us proud’!

Year 3 Chetwynd Deer Park Visit Tuesday 6th October

Dear Parents and Carers,

Tomorrow is the Year 3 visit day to Chetwynd Deer Park. Children will be walking to and from the park. We aim to be back by 3:15pm – please bear with us if we are a little late, as our normal pick-up slot is between 3:15pm-3:30pm at the end of the school day.

All Year 3 children have been briefed in school about what to do / bring / wear, but for clarity, here is the list:

  • Wear own clothes. No uniform necessary. Dress warm, in clothes that can get muddy.
  • Bring waterproof coat.
  • Wear wellies, or waterproof walking boots, suitable for getting muddy.
  • Bring own packed lunch and drink (if your child receives free school meals, they will already have been provided for).
  • Bring a bag of extra dry clothes and shoes to wear afterwards, in the event of extreme weather!

Please contact either Mr Butler, Miss Watson or Mr Parker via email if you have any questions.
