Y6 Maths Club

Just a reminder for parents that Mr Jones’ Maths Club will be on tomorrow. It runs from 3.30 – 4.15 and children should be collected from 6J’s outside door (by the main reception.) Children are encouraged to bring a drink and enjoyable snack to the session.

 

Lidl Opening!

We are delighted that we have been asked to take a small group of children to open Newport’s new Lidl store on Thursday!  We will post some pictures at the end of the week.

Lidl are also kindly sponsoring Fruit Tuesday; each Tuesday for the remainder of term children will be provided with a fruit item from the store.. yum!  Thank you Lidl.

Yr 4 Residential Meeting for Parents re:Manor Adventure

On Thursday 28th February we will be holding a short meeting for the parents of children who are attending Manor Adventure. This will be held at 3.30pm in Mr Moody’s classroom.

At this meeting you will be given kit lists, medical forms and other important information about our residential.

Dear Parents,

Please find attached the homework to be completed over the half term. All Year 3 children need to research Roman shield designs and record their ideas in their homework books (one or two pictures of chosen design with description).

Please continue to practice spellings and use Time Tables Rock Stars as well as daily reading.

Week 7 Year 3 spellings and homework (to be tested 1.3.19)

Spellings due 25th February

To support with understanding definitions for spellings, the ‘Collins children’s cobuild dictionary’ is a very useful tool.

Encourage children to write detailed and interesting sentences that demonstrate their understanding of sentence structures.

Homework due 25th February

Read at least 3 times and ask an adult to sign your reading diary to confirm.

Learn your spellings. Complete detailed sentences and definitions in your homework book.

Look at www.mathsisfun.com and revise multiplying and dividing decimals by decimals – there are online activities to complete.

If a TTRS task has been set, make sure your child logs in to the website and practises times table facts.

Children to complete a recount of the favourite day over half term. Children need to include the following: detailed description, emotions, speech, varied sentence structures and use a wide range of cohesive devices.
