Thank you for coming to our open lunch yesterday… technology aside we thoroughly enjoyed the lesson! Below you will find the powerpoint (that we couldn’t show yesterday).

VIKING DAY!
The children will all be coming home with a letter about a Viking Day at our school in April. This is a great experience for the children where they can see real artefacts and take part in many Viking challenges.
Big Sing 2020
Just a reminder that slips for the Big Sing 2020 are due in Monday 3rd February. Even if your child is not going, we need to be made aware of this also.
Many thanks,
The Year 4 Team
Can you help?
As part of our guided reading, Year 4 will need to watch the film ‘How to Train Your Dragon?’ (The First Film in the series)
This is in order to prepare for a film review and a comparison with the book.
If you have a copy, please could you send your child into school with it Monday 3rd February. As soon as we have watched the film, the copy will be returned to you.
Many thanks,
The Year 4 Team
Big Sing 2020! Year 4!
The children in year 4 will be coming home with a letter about the Big Sing 2020. This is an event due to take place on Thursday 12th March at The International Centre, Telford.
This letter is purely for us to see how many children would like to take part. Then we will be able to provide more details.
This letter needs to be given to Miss E Jones (4J) by Monday 3rd February at the latest.
Thank you!
The Year 4 Team
Young Voices!
Just a reminder… we are directly behind the main stage to the right hand side. Look out for the children waving their green hats.
No Swimming!
There will be no swimming tomorrow (Tuesday 28th) for year 4.
Many thanks,
The Year 4 Team
Homework!
On Monday, the children will receive new spellings for the week. They will also be expected to read three times to an adult and go on TTRS three times.
Alongside this, we are asking the children to find some images they would like to use for their Wax Work Museum work. This can either be printed at home or e-mailed to us to print at school.
We will provide your child with our e-mail on Monday.
We would also like to add just how impressed we have been by the children’s courageous advocate homework. The children have been sharing their facts all week and have clearly enjoyed finding what makes them inspirational.
Homework!
Please remember that your child’s project will be due in school Thursday or Friday of this week (23rd or 24th). We are looking forward to seeing what they have produced about their class courageous advocate.
All they will receive today is a new set of spellings to be tested Friday 24th January.
TTRS and Reading as always are still part of the homework and will be checked regularly throughout the week.
Happy Monday!
The Year 4 Team
Year 4 – Homework!
Homework: Due Thursday 23rd or Friday 24th January.
Every week the children will be expected to read 3 times to an adult. Alongside this, TTRS will be set and checked weekly. They will receive spellings as normal which will be tested on a Friday.
For this two week homework challenge, we would like the children to research and complete a project on their Courageous Advocate. They can produce a fact file, poster, presentation. We will leave it up to them how they will to present what they find. Whilst researching, think about the following questions:
Why are they courageous?
What makes them inspirational?
What are they famous for? Why?
