Earth Day Final Call

After receiving lots and lots of entries for the pumpkin and sunflower growing competition, showing the weights of the pumpkins via scales and the sizes of the sunflowers with tape measures etc – the deadline for entries is end of the school day on Wednesday (22nd). I will be announcing the winners during celebration assembly on Thursday (23rd!)

Many children have sent the confirmed images into school showing the scaled weight and the measured height as they would like to continue the growth of their plants – this we fully understand.

If their are any more entries then please send them directly to me via email; ben.moody@taw.org.uk

Welcoming the very first children to Beech’s Base ….

Hi All

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend. Tomorrow we will be inviting the very first children to Beech’s Base. These will be the children who were awarded a Head Teacher’s Award last week. Hopefully you received your invite outlining what you need to bring but here is a brief reminder:

  • Wellies/Outdoor Footwear
  • Old clothing (Even though the forecast is looking warm children need to wear trousers and long sleeved tops to ensure they have a layer of protection from brambles and nettles)
  • Packed Lunch
  • Your invite (If you have it!!)
  • Optional waterproof trousers or all in one for water fun.

Children will change after their session, this can be into another pair of old clothes and footwear rather than uniform to save it getting muddy!

In addition to this we are hoping to invite classes as soon as possible, thank you for being patient. We have had some delays to the completion of the site due to supply issues but are hopeful the finishing touches will be all sorted soon!

If you have any questions please email me: jeni.kuczynska@taw.org.uk

Many thanks

Mrs Kuczynska

Year 3 Books Home on Thurs/Friday this week!

Dear Parents,

Please could you send your children in with a ‘bag for life’/strong plastic bag, to carry books and other work home in?

We will be sorting out books tomorrow and Friday to go home.

Kind regards,

The Year 3 Team

Year 3 Homework project success

Emily has worked really hard to produce these brilliant Olympic Games events in her Minecraft world. She produced the Olympic rings, some running, swimming and archery and the stands. Well done Emily!

Also, well done to all those children who produced some Olympic art work, fact files, and games.

Year 3 Forest School Date Change

Dear Parents,

Just to remind you all, some children came in today and were not aware of the dates for their class trip to Forest School. Please pass on the message below to all year 3 parents you know!
Many thanks,

Mr Butler

Message below: sent Thursday last week.

Due to staff training, we would like to confirm the new dates below as correct for Forest Schools next week. These dates may be different to the ones sent out by letter previously, but are definitely correct:

3P – Tuesday 6th July

3B – Wednesday 7th July

3W – Thursday 8th July

We hope this doesn’t cause any inconvenience – apologies if it does. Please ensure your child is appropriately dressed for their class’s day.

Thank you for your continued support,

The Year 3 Team

Year 3 Sports Day and Swimming on Monday 28th June

Dear Parents,

Just a reminder that children will need their full PE kit AND their swimming kit on Monday 28th June.

Kind regards,

The Year 3 Team.

Year 3 Swimming next week

Dear Parents,

Next week, Swimming for Year 3 will be as follows:

Monday 14th June Yellow and Green house team children ONLY, at Newport Swimming Pool. Children will walk to the Pool and back again, within the school day. Please pick up your children from school in the usual way.

Tuesday 15th June ALL year 3 children, at NJS pool.

Please ensure your child has their swimming kit on the relevant days, and also brings in their PE kit on a Monday, to take home on a Friday.

PE kits are essential to have in every day at the moment, as we have to take advantage of hall and field availability to practice sports day events and additional PE lessons, often with short notice.

Thank you for your support with this.

Kind regards,

The Year 3 Team.
